TRLT Ranch Mecate reins (pronounced muh-caw-tee) are made out of soft durable rope. Our reins are 22 feet long, giving you 8-10 feet to be used for the rein and the remaining 10-12 feet for a lead line. The length of the lead line can be moved which allows you to adjust the length of the reins to fit any horse. The lead line can be used for training on the ground or in the saddle.
Mecate reins are meant to be used with slobber straps in most any bit. When riding, the lead line end can be tucked under your belt or wrapped around the saddle horn for easy access.
TRLT Ranch prefers our rope because of these advantages:
-The rope is soft and durable
-The diameter of the rope is a comfortable fit in the hands
-Its easily washable with a little soap (no bleach)
Mecate’s are an excellent training device. Click here to see why we at TRLT Ranch like them:
